Calvert Focuses on Vision Impairment Program
For the month of May, Calvert Home Health Care will be focusing on our Vision Impairment Program, VIP Program. If you have Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Detachment, Cataracts, Glaucoma or Acquired (Traumatic) Brain Injury, Calvert's Vision Therapy treatment may be beneficial for you.
Treatment involves monitoring and self-care at home with the support of the interdisciplinary Home Health team. The overall objective of the Low Vision Program is to keep the patient safe and functional in their living environment for as long as possible.
What is low vision or visual impairment?
Anyone with non-correctable reduced vision is visually impaired
-Visual impairment or the loss of eyesight that makes many activities of daily living difficult is often referred to as low vision. Patients may still have some use of their vision and be considered to have low vision
